Native Carved Wood Winged Totem Pole - Henry Peltier
For sale is this large First Nations Hand-Carved & Painted 3 Figure Wood Winged Totem Pole in very nice condition with some small, thin, vertical wood cracks along the upper front facing from the ageing process. It is signed "Henry Peltier/98" on the back of the totem pole. Henry Joseph Peltier ( 1934-2012 ), Anishinaabe Tribe, was an Internationally renowned wood carver. As a young man, he visited the Haida carvers on the Northwest Coast of Canada to learn how to carve totem poles so he could revive totem pole making on Manitoulin Island.
