The Athame
This is a gorgeous athame made from a lovely piece of Gorse wood found in Cornwall.
I sanded the wood smooth to show off the lovely markings gorse wood has and have given the wood a coat of beeswax polish.
The blade is a vintage silver plated cutlery blade and is not sharp in any way, nor should it be sharpened - it's in good condition with some small scratches and tarnish as would be expected.
The athame measures about 8.5 inches/22cm long, and as with many of my items is one of a kind.
Athame's are ritual tools, not intended to be used to cut objects with - The blade is not sharp, nor can it be sharpened.
