This is a Victorian Jewellery Box. Used by a Victorian jeweller to store and transport precious metal, gem stones, watches, and finished jewellery. Used as a sample box and to transport jewellery to the assay office, and to customers. This box could be conserved by minimal gluing and a lightest leather dressing. Though I would leave it alone.
