This is an authentic (NOT a modern reprint) vintage 1986 Fultone Laser Duotone plate (fine offset lithographic photo engraving) by the renown American photographer Ruth Bernhard. Throughout
her
illustrious career Ruth Bernhard excelled in many areas of
photography and is considered one of the great photographic artists of
the twentieth century. Best known for her now iconic studies of the female nude, Bernhard's work is sought after by collectors and held in important collections and
museums
throughout the world.
This
fine photo lithograph plate was
engraved by David Gray Gardner and the Gardner/Fulmer Lithograph
company for Bernhard's first monograph of nudes. Gardner for many years
reproduced the work of Ansel Adams and his expertise in reproducing
delicate tonal values in black and white photography has earned his
firm industry wide acclaim. In producing the plates for this limited
edition project, Gardner utilized a unique laser
lithographic process developed at his company known as "Fultone", which
renders incredible detail and tonality - faithfully matching the
original print.
The plate is in near mint condition and an example of fine art printing
at it's highest level - it will frame up beautifully for display.
This vintage 1986 offset lithographic photo engraving is guaranteed to be authentic and comes with a hand signed
CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY (COA) with unique individual registered serial number from the Finephoto Vintage Archive &
