It is an indigo-dyed furoshiki with sashiko in the four corners. 

One side is spliced and has a nice Boro look.

It is a little thicker and has a wonderful texture.

Furoshiki is Japanese old style bag.  

They placed the object in the middle and tied the four corners together on the diagonal to carry it.
