Vintage Wrought Iron Plate Bowl Stand Holder, Handmade Metal Swirl Easel

This handmade in the USA iron stand is unique due to the high quality craftmanship not seen in similar swirl tipped plate stands.  In specific, the swirled tips are hand forged and tapered into slim points before twisting them into delicate spirals.  Most stands have a chunky even diameter iron rod, simply swirled into a spiral.  The artisan making this one took time to prepare the iron by hand hamming the end tips into decreasing diameter rods, down to points.  Very fine elegant craftsmanship!

The iron rod is slimmer than the standard 1/4" diameter metal seen on most plate stands. This more elegant stand uses 3/16" iron rod.

A hanging plate is welded to the back so it may be used to wall mount your bowl or artwork.
If you would like to display something bigger and deeper like a bowl instead of a plate, you can bend the backrest back to alter the angle.  Therefore, the depth of the stand is adjustable  with use of some good pressure.  I have done this with an identical stand I am keeping.

I have used a lot of plate, bowl, and book stands, and this is by far my favorite style and artist due to the elegant finishing of the swirls, plus the adjustable backrest.  To adjust it, a lot of pressure will need to be used when holding it on a flat surface, but it can indeed be done since the rod is a slim 3/16".  It was not made to specifically be adjustable, but I know from practice that they certainly will adjust if needed.

The plate seen in a few photos is for display purposes only.  Plate not for sale.
The large gold plate is 11 1/8" in diameter to show scale and function if helpful.

Dimension of the stand are:
7" wide to end of swirls
3 3/8" wide from rung to rung or from stand or swirl to start of swirl
7 1/8" tall backrest
Full depth of stand is 5 1/4"
4 5/8" interior depth (usable space) possible, but it is leaned forward currently.  So the useable space right now is approx 2 1/2" for a plate, frame, or book.  But adjust as you see fit.

Feel free to request more close-up images for a more detailed inspection.
Very clean.  Some natural patina over the years.

This is the last of this style, besides one shorter one.  If you seek more display racks, I have a few left of other styles in a thicker iron and different design. Feel free to send a message.
