THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION. Original vintage advertising poster for Randers Reb -- Aktieselskabet Randers Rebslaaeri / Randers Ropes Denmark. Great illustration by Henry Thelander (1902-1986) of a fisherman with a white beard, dressed in blue and wearing a hat, smoking a pipe with fishing boats sailing on the sea behind him, the text below in stylised letters with the Randers logo. Founded in 1840, Randers is a Danish company that manufactures steel ropes and wires for Maritime use...fishing, trawling, mooring, etc. Printed by Egmont H. Petersen, Copenhagen. The poster has a thin metal border along the top and bottom. There's actually a little loop of thread in the top metal piece, that would have been used to hang it originally. In the photo, it's a little hard to tell that it's metal...it could be mistaken for stains or discoloration, but that's not the case. It's in excellent condition, and ready for framing. It's truly in amazing condition for a poster printed in 1949. Printed on really nice heavy stock paper, and not as fragile as some posters from that era.

About the artist: Danish artist Henry Thelander got his big break as a commercial artist creating some of Denmark's most memorable travel, tourism, and commercial posters. Along with Randers, the Danish Tourist Association, and DSB were some of his largest campaigns.
