This is a representative work of Japanese mystery manga, both in name and reality, which was first serialized in the weekly Shonen SUNDAY magazine in 1994.
SHINICHI KUDO(JIMMY KUDO), a high school detective with a father who is a mystery writer and a mother who used to be an actress, is a great admirer of SHERLOCK HOLMES, and has the same powers of deduction and insight as an adult. When he goes to an amusement park with his childhood friend RAN MORI(RACHEL MOORE), he witnesses a suspicious transaction between men in black. He is forced to take a poisonous potion to keep his mouth shut.
Although his life is spared, the side effects of the poisonous drug cause his body to become childish, and he is reduced to the body of a first grader.
SHINICHI hides his true identity and calls himself CONAN EDOGAWA.
He stays with the RAN's house, who believe that he can get information on a mysterious organization because KOGORO MORI(RICHARD MOORE), RAN's father, is a detective, and uses his powers of deduction and insight to solve cases that occur around him one after another.
The story follows the conspiracy of the mysterious Black-Ops Organization in order to regain his original body.
"Detective CONAN" has been loved by many fans for a long time because of the many incidents that occur one after another and the various tricks that are revealed each time.
