This twist-action ballpoint pen features a cap with hand-inlaid polished panels of oceanic saltwater origin Tahitian black mother of pearl of the highest-grade. These panels shine and shift in a spectrum of colors in the light to bring out beautiful, glimmering iridescence. The round lower barrel is made of solid hand-guilloched, hallmarked 925 sterling silver. The fittings are 18k gold-plated brass. Each pen is limited edition and serialized. The hand-cut, hand-inlaid panels of black mother of pearl were carefully set on the cap and manually polished to perfection to showcase the nacre's beauty. This cap, paired with the shiny 18k gold-plated clip and hand- guilloched 925 solid sterling silver lower barrel, offers a sophisticated look inspired by the Art Nouveau philosophy of synergy between natural and human design. Mother of pearl is not only beautiful—it’s also known as one of the most durable natural materials. Xezo uses a grade of nacre (mother of pearl) with a hardness of 4.5 on the Mohs scale. For comparison, a fingernail has a hardness of 2.5, a knife’s steel blade has a hardness of 5.5, and copper or brass have a hardness of 3. We use this toughest grade of mother of pearl in our luxury pens because we believe that the best gift is one that represents enduring love and care. The black mother of pearl we use is a natural material, and every piece is unique. Due to this, some distinctions in the colors and textures in these pens may occur.
