Antique 'J.DIXON' Saddlers/Cobblers Leather Pricking Wheel Tool - 10/Inch

This is a pricking tool commonly used by leatherworkers such as saddlers, harness makers and cobblers.

The tool itself has a metal rotating picking wheel and a shaped wooden handle for ease of use.

There is a maker on the wheel reading:
'J.Dixon & Sons'

'J Dixon & Sons (James Dixon & Sons), founded 1806 in Sheffield, was one of the major British manufacturers of the Industrial Revolution.'

There is also a '10' on the wheel signifying the wheel will make 10 pricks per inch.

The brass frame also has a maker:
'Mrs Leach's Patent'
