Based on the major parts of the roadster, it had a fixed roof to give the chassis the handling required and with the engine at the front, rear wheel drive and a 50/50 weight distribution, the coupe had superb overall agility. The distinct shape gave it the nickname of clown shoe and the low number of vehicles produced makes the Z3 M Coupé a rare sight on the road..
