This a Santa Fe Bx-187 modern 60 foot excess height boxcar without roof walk completely manufactured by Micro-Trains. Only 100 of each car were produced. The first car is number 73 of the Joint Line Series and NSC special run number 6-32.

In 1918 the USRA combined the tracks between Denver and Pueblo to form the Joint Line.  "Acequia" is the thirteenth in a series honoring the trains and stations of the Joint Line.  Acequia derives its name from a Spanish word meaning canal or ditch.  Located about 14 miles south of Denver, Acequia is now considered a ghost town.

This is a prototypical Santa Fe Bx-187 50 foot boxcar from a series of 25 cars manufactured in November of 1978 by Berwick Forge Company.  The cars are painted "Oxide Red" with white and black printing.  The cars have prototypical end printing including the white excess height band with black lettering across the top.
