It is dedicated to the Vydubychi St. Michael's Monastery, founded by the son of Prince Yaroslav Vsevolod on the southern outskirts of Kyiv - in the Vydubychi tract. According to the chronicle, the name of the tract comes from the word "vidybaty" - a wooden idol of the god Perun, which was thrown into the Dnieper near Starokyivska Hill during the baptism of Kievan Rus, flowed here. The first brick church on the territory of the monastery was St. Michael's Church, built in the last quarter of the XI century. At the beginning of the XII century. the monastery became one of the centers of chronicles. The possessions of the monastery included Zvirynets, Lybid, Navodnytsia, Osokorkiv and other lands with transportation on the Dnieper and its tributary Lybedi. The monastery took an active part in the political life of Kievan Rus. It was here, near St. Michael's Church, that the army traditionally gathered for the army. The modern ensemble of Vydubychi monastery, which is an architectural monument of national importance, was formed in the late XVII - early XVIII centuries, when the monastery has several magnificent buildings: one of the best masterpieces of Ukrainian Baroque - St. George's Cathedral, refectory with the Church of the Transfiguration, bell tower.
On the obverse of the coin there are: at the top - a small State Emblem of Ukraine, above which is a semicircular inscription UKRAINE; in the center, on a mirror background, the iconic buildings of the architectural complex of the Vydubychi monastery are depicted, surrounded by flowers; inscriptions are indicated: 5 / HRYVN / 2020 (below) and VYDUBYTSKY SAINT-MICHAEL'S MONASTERY (semicircle); logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (left among the flowers).

The reverse of the coins depicts the composition: in the center - the stairs, symbolizing the ancient history of the monastery, on the first step of which the inscription - XI century .; to the left are stylized iconographic images of saints, to the right of the stairs is the image of a monk, below is the seal of Prince Vsevolod, to the right is the coat of arms of Colonel M. Myklashevsky, at the expense of which St. George's Cathedral (1696–1701) was built.
