12.5" High Antique Hand Painted (w/Blue Trees) Nippon Vase. Larger than most Nippon vases you see here at eBay.  Biggest is best, and this one is a beauty.  Weighs 3 lbs., 2.5ozs.  Nippon (Japanese for 'Japan') stamp dates this between 1891 (McKinley Act of 1890) and 1921 (requirement that the import country's english name be stamped on all imports).  As I photographed, I noticed the lumpy spots on one of the handles as seen in photos.  There is some solid but detectable restoration work here, so I reduced my price.  Other than that, there are no chips or cracks with this vase, but as is normal with Nippon this old, some of the gold guilding has worn away.  As you see in the last photo, vase is made of a translucent material (a white glass) as many Nippon items are (research this on-line).
