A  Superb Antique, George III Solid Silver "Long Drop", Old English Hanoverian Pattern Serving or Table Spoon, by W.L (No other makers information, This mark not shown by Grimwade. It may have been recorded in the missing 1739-1758 Small workers' Register.)  Assay Hallmarked, London 1761.

This spoon is in excellent condition, with just normal wear for a spoon of 261 years of age and usage, and is monogram free. ("Long Drop" is a term used for the length of the stem on the bottom of the bowl)
A great collectable spoon in superb condition, it would also make a lovely wedding or christening present, or even as a nice gift for someone special. The spoon is 8" 20.4 cm in length, and the silver weight is: 64g.

P.S. Unfortunately, hallmarks on spoons of this Georgian era are always difficult to read without a strong loupe, due to their being stamped on the narrow part of the stem, as opposed to the wider top part, as in later spoons.

Important, please read:
These spoons are described as table or serving spoons, as that was its designated usage when they were made in the 17th.18th. or 19th. century, unlike our modern equivalents, which are different in size to the Georgian & Victorian times, Please refer to the dimensions above.

PS Silver is very difficult to photograph because it's reflection picks up the photographer, hence any tinging. Also, these items are not new, most are over 100 years old, some 200 and over, so will have some defects, unless they had a charmed life.
