History - Bose was a highly decorated Leutnant in the Wehrmacht (Sturmgeschutz-Abteilung 177 and Panzerjager-Abteilung 69) and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery and/or successful military leadership). He served on the Eastern Front from 1941-1945. Quote - "Even if the “real” tank crews of the Panzer Regiments looked down on us, they knew how good we were. Like me, most of the gunners of Sturmgeschütz units were former artillerymen. We knew how to handle a gun. The StuG was an excellent weapon."
