When Decipher released The Hunters expansion of The Lord of the Rings TCG, players were pretty surprised. The new Hunters mechanic was both curious and tremendously powerful -- the first obvious and far-reaching power escalation in the game since Reflections. 

It changed the way people played the game for the rest of its life. Hunters also included cards that would become staples in decks: The One Ring, The Ring of Doom, Aragorn's Bow, Ranger's Longbow, Mount Doom, etc.
