1737 ORIGINAL ANTIQUE COPPER PLATE MAP SOUTHERN INDIA - JEAN BAPTISTE D'ANVILLE 

A scarce and attractive early map of Southern India by D'Anville.  Based on the surveys of the Jesuit cartographer Jean-Venant Bouchet (1655-1732).  The map is adorned with the Jesuit symbol.

Good antique condition with original outline hand colouring.  Trimmed close to plate and backed to thick paper.   Some creasing and cockling to map and mount,  occasional age marks.

Mount 41.5cm x 32.6cm approx.
