Please note: the old dirty and
dried up fluid must be removed before a
fresh charge of Silicone Oil can be applied! The tank can only hold a maximum
of 2ml, so clean both the paddle and tank first. The relevant parts of the
manual have been reproduced in the photos to serve as an aid and to buyers. According to various remarks on audio forums, best results are obtained by using less than the recommended 2ml, so inject 1.5ml and start testing until a satisfactory balance has been achieved!
Approximately 2ml in syringe. As per manual, 200k or 200000 cSt silicone oil to
be used for smooth tonearm movement and improvement in performance. After years
of use the original fluid has dried up or dust and dirt are causing the fluid
to become more frictional. Cleaning and applying fresh fluid is advisable to
see if the problem can be resolved. For comparisons sake, 200k cSt has more or
less the consistency of honey and 1 cSt is the viscosity of water and the
analogy here is like dropping a spoon in a glass of water or a pot of
honey.....the spoon takes a long time to sink to the bottom in honey! Unless
you are a repair shop, all you need are 2ml and not the whole big bottle.
Therefore, I am selling off my surplus stock in an easy to apply syringe (a
needle is not required nor convenient ) and small quantities that an enthusiast
would need! For the Low Viscosity 60K, 100K, 300K (for a more slower drop or certain models of DUAL
turntables) and 500K as well as 1M (for heavy tonearms) Silicone Oil, please look
at my other similar items for sale!
