Written off at the start of the season as being too young and inexperienced the second wave of Kevin Sheedy's Baby Bombers took all before them in a stunning season.
However, it was the last Saturday in September that the Bombers displayed maturity beyond their years. Led by the calm control of Mark Thompson and Harvey, inspired by the comeback of Windy Hill legend Tim Watson and driven by a fleet of kids second to none, Essendon dominated Carlton from the first bounce.
