It is dedicated to one of the oldest music schools in Ukraine and Europe, which has gained national and international recognition as a result of its activities. The emergence and existence of the academy are closely related to the activity of music schools in Lviv, the history of which dates back to the 19th century. At the Music Academy, such stars of the music scene as S. Krushelnytska, D. Sichinsky, O. Mishuga, V. Barvinsky, M. Skoryk and many others were educated.
On the obverse of the coin there is a stylized composition: on the background of the musical notes there is a musical instrument - a lyre, at the top of which is a small State Emblem of Ukraine, under it are inscriptions: UKRAINE / 2 / Hryvnia; Below: National Bank of Ukraine Banknote and Coinage Logo and 2019 Coinage Year.
On the reverse of the coin there is an image of the Academy building, above which is a portrait of composer and teacher Mykola Lysenko and inscriptions: LV LIVEN NATIONAL MUSIC ACADEMY (above the semicircle), 175 / YEARS (below).
