Norfolk

genuine antique map published by Francis Grose in his
"The Antiquities of England & Wales"
1783-1787
This map detached from a disbound volume which was inscribed as from the library of the Bishop of Lichfield. That could have been Samuel Butler or else the Bishop Cornwallis who succeeded to the title of Earl Cornwallis.

Grose used the 1695 maps of John Seller.

This particular map has rather attractive later hand-colouring. They look wonderful when mounted and framed. Since the descriptive text continues on the reverse this map is sometimes framed between 3 sheets of glass.

Image size 220x145 plus wide margins.
