Description
This is a beautiful, brilliant uncirculated, "Die Number 22", sterling silver, "One Shilling" from Great Britain. It was struck in 1875 at the Royal mint in London. Between 1864 and 1879 the mint engraved individual die numbers on the Florins, Shillings and Sixpence coins. This one shows the die number above the date on the reverse. See below.
The "Shillings" of Victoria are interesting. They began with the "Young Head" here and this design lasted with minor adjustments from 1838 until the "Jubilee Head" was introduced in 1887. Finally, the "Veiled" or "Old Head" type was introduced in 1893. There are many different minor varieties to collect as well as by die number.

The Coin: A beautiful, lustrous, mostly white example, it has a few small marks but shows no wear. It got put away a long time ago and stayed there. As grading is subjective, please see the pictures and judge for yourself.
