We include a bootable recovery CD/USB drive and also create a recovery image that is placed on a section of an internal drive or, in some cases, a USB flash drive. This recovery image allows you to 'reset' the PC back to the day you received it from us, should something go badly wrong. Software is included to allow you to create your own recovery image once you have the PC is set up to your liking, and we highly recommend you do this. Instructions for using the software are included with the pack that comes with the system.

This PC has a legitimate digital installation of Windows direct from Microsoft. This has been achieved because it comes complete with the correct COA (certificate of authenticity) either embedded in the BIOS or on an attached label. If you buy a PC without the official COA, you have no rights to the software installed and the seller violates Microsoft’s copyright and is breaking the law.  Please ensure, when comparing PCs, that you ask the seller if the PC comes with the legitimate COA. If it does not, don’t buy it and report the seller. All my PCs come with the correct licence and COA.

Unlike many PC's on eBay, this will work straight out the box. Everything is installed and working, all the drivers, all the latest versions of software, all just works. It is just like buying from a computer store, except for a much better PC!! My descriptions can be a tad long; however, they contain lots of information regarding exactly what it is you are buying, and I urge you to read through it all to see what an outstanding package is included. Would make an excellent, fast, reliable PC. Top of the range components, none of your cheap PC World or Curry's Advent or Acer rubbish here. Built for the corporate business world where they take no-nonsense, these are quality machines. Peerless for quality, and that is precisely what you get here. Superb build quality, reliability, and performance. Any engineer will tell you that they use only the best of components, which is why they cost more, but as always, you get what you pay for.

Overall, this laptop is in good condition. There are some scratches on the lid and there will be the odd scuff marks/scratches/bumps on the outer edges. Inside, the keyboard, touchpad, and mouse buttons have only minimal signs of use. As far as I can see, the screen has no dead pixels and is clear and crisp. The backlit keyboard is a standard QWERTY layout (UK) 

Please note, however, it is not being sold as brand new, and therefore you should expect some signs of use. If there is anything major, I will advise in the description. Please refer to my large pictures. You can zoom right in on them to see the system up close. I have nothing to hide and so provide clear pictures of the actual item for sale. My 100% record gives testimony to the accuracy and honesty of my descriptions.

The PC is personalised for the new owner, including a welcome pack, rescue disks, recovery partition, and personalised paperwork plus all the latest Windows updates / other software updates as required.

This laptop comes with a standard Dell battery, which is reporting around 1 hour use at full load test. We charge and test the battery for a minimum of 45 minutes and if it lasts less than that, we replace it. If it lasts more than 45 mins, we class it as good. Please note that batteries can go at any time and warranties do not include this as it is classed as a consumable product. 

It also comes with the Dell PRO2X docking station. The great advantage of having the docking station is that it allows you to leave all your computer peripherals connected and is an indispensable home/office extra. You will wonder how you ever got on without one. Basically, it allows you to connect things like your Ethernet network lead, your printer, camera, speakers, external keyboard and mouse, serial device, modem, two external large screen monitors etc and leave them always connected. When you are ready to go out of the office, simply undock the laptop, and it is all fully charged up for the day ahead. The docking station has the following additional ports: 6 USB ports (two are USB 3.0), one Ethernet (RJ45) port, two x DVI ports, one VGA port, two x display ports, 2 x PS2 ports (for keyboard and mouse), one 9 pin serial port, one 25 pin parallel/serial port, one display stand port, Kensington lock slot (means you can bolt the unit to a desk using a Kensington lock – not supplied) and one set of audio in and out ports.

At home or in your office, you simply dock your laptop, and you have access to all those devices plugged into the docking station without ever having to plug or unplug them ever again. It also prolongs the life of your laptop in three ways.

1.     You are not constantly plugging and unplugging peripherals, eventually wearing or damaging the ports.

2.     When at home, you can use it with an external monitor through the docking station, keeping your screen nice and bright.

3.     It lifts the laptop off the desk slightly at an ergonomic angle, allowing better airflow, therefore keeping it cool. Overheating is the number one killer of laptops.

The job of the CPU cache is to anticipate data requests so that when the user clicks on a frequently used program, for example, the instructions required to run that program are at the ready, stored in the cache.
