This appears to be an EARLY HAND BLOWN and CUT FULL LEAD CRYSTAL DECANTER  by TYRONE CRYSTAL. It  has a TYRONE stamp etched in block letters without a Castle, which came later.

This decanter is PANEL CUT with 3 Hand Applied Neck RINGS and an unusual wide Ship's base. It measures 7 inches high, 6 1/4 inches in diameter across the bottom and 2 5/8 inches at the opening.

This item NEEDS TO BE CLEANED and the stopper is NOT included. I am NOT AN EXPERT - please use your own judgment as to the date and condition of this item! Please look at the photos as they are the best description and ask any questions BEFORE purchasing. THANK YOU for your consideration.

Founded in County Tyrone Ireland in 1771, the first hand-blown lead crystal made in Ireland was made by "Tyrone Crystal. The company closed for a period in the 1800's and glass from this earlier period is highly sought after. An old company brochure is titled TYRONE CRYSTAL: THE MOST EXCLUSIVE LEAD CRYSTAL IN THE WORLD. Tyrone Crystal was chosen as crystal maker for the largest crystal chandelier in Ireland which is almost 15 feet tall and weighs almost 900 pounds. Although crystal has been made in Waterford since 1783 when "Penrose's Crystal House" was started, "Waterford Crystal" did not exist until 1947 and is unrelated to the earlier factory.
