'BATTLECRUISER INVINCIBLE. THE HISTORY OF THE FIRST BATTLECRUISER 1909-16' by V E Tarrant.

First edition 1986. Published by Arms & Armour Press.

Hardback with Dust-Wrapper. Measures: 5.5 by 8.75 inches. 158 pages. Fully illustrated in black & white.

When first built, HMS Invincible was the second most powerful warship in existence, combining the heavy broadside of

a battleship with the speed of a cruiser. In her first action, Invincible together with her sister ship Inflexible, annihilated

the German cruiser squadron of Von Spee off the Falklands, but at Jutland, Invincible blew up with only six survivors

out of more than 1,000 aboard.

This book tells the full story of Invincible, from her controversial design to her tragic end.

The contents, hard covers & dust-wrapper (not clipped) are in fine condition. No inscriptions.
