This is a Quartzo Classic Grand Prix 1/43rd scale diecast model released back in the early 1990's, if memory serves me correctly. The model is of Dave Walker and is the all-conquering Lotus 72D he drove in the 1972 British Grand Prix. Walker was teammate to Emerson Fittipaldi but never had the same success in the Lotus; at the lower Formula 2 level Walker reigned.

The car's racing number is # 9 and the entire car is liveried in the famous black and gold of John Player Special cigarettes. The Quartzo white sticker is still on the side of the acrylic top and the gold sticker giving the car's info below the model is still in place and not pealing upward as is often the case. The driver's helmet and coveralls are a faithful rendition of the white helmet with vertical red stripe that Walker used; with white driver's suit Dave used.

This model does not have the small certificate that would be stored underneath the case. Should I ever find it, will forward to the new owner of this model. Perhaps it did not come with one; just not sure after owning it for going on 25 years.

I do not know if this car came with a white cardboard sleeve or not. I do not recall it having one. Mention this because "some" of my Quartzo models have one; just not this one. Again, if I find it I'll forward it to the new owner. At 68, my memory is not what it once was.
