Series: Outstanding Persons of Ukraine

Dedicated to the outstanding Ukrainian educator, publicist, children's writer, whose 100th anniversary is included in the memorable dates, which are celebrated at the UNESCO level - Vasily Oleksandrovych Sukhomlinsky. V. Sukhomlynsky entered the history of the Ukrainian school as the creator of the `school of joy` - the original system of education and upbringing of children, based on the idea of ​​self-worth and uniqueness of each individual, his free development. The ideas proposed by Vasyl Sukhomlinsky formed the basis of the new Ukrainian school being implemented in Ukraine.

On the obverse of the coin there is: the upper part is the Small State Emblem of Ukraine, to the right of which is the inscription UKRAINE (semicircular), the year of issue of the coin is 2018 (above the emblem); in the center on a mirrored background - a portrait of V.O. Sukhomlynsky, the face value is 2 / ГРИВНІ and the logo of the Banknote-Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine; inscriptions in a semicircle on a matte background: VASIL SUKHOMLINSKY (left), 1918 - 1970 (under the portrait).

On the reverse of the coin there is a heart, in the center of which is the inscription: I WILL CHILDREN, around the heart - stylized characters from the stories of V. Sukhomlynsky.
