The City Turbo, introduced in 1982, became popular for its unique style, playful interior and exterior, and of course, the nimble driving performance provided by its turbocharged power. In 1983, the Turbo II, a further development of the Turbo, was added to the lineup. The biggest difference between the Turbo II and the previous Turbo was its radical nature.
As the nickname "Bulldog" suggests, it was given a considerably more powerful exterior than the non-turbo City. Large blister fenders, called "dynamic fenders," were adopted, and the tread was widened by 30 mm in front and 20 mm in back. The power bulge was replaced by a large one that was integrated with the hood, and ducts were added to the rear fenders
