The installation must be performed by a person having excellent electronics background (especially in restoring vintage tube and transistor radios) to avoid damages. Consequently, we won't make custom tutorials from schematics.

All FM-DW 2.2 modules are manually tested before shipping. In case of return, we will proceed with a close inspection to ensure that the module was not damaged by an improper installation or tampering with, in which case there will be no exchange and no refund.

The FM-DW module converts almost all vintage tube and transistor radios to the FM band.
Its AM Saver "piggyback" module (sold in my other listing) allows keeping the AM bands when necessary.

DAB/DAB+ radios can be heard using a cheap DAB/DAB+ to FM transmitter (not included), which avoids altering the radio to insert additional controls and a LCD screen.

The FM-DW 2.2 module only works with a tuning capacitor: it won't work with variable inductors like in some car radios. However, the next version (currently in prototype stage) will !




Main specs :

- FM 87.5-108 MHz. Tune using the radio's dial. Choose the FM limits on the dial in any direction.
- Japanese FM bands (76-90 MHz and 76-108 MHz) supported.
 - Audio output: mono or stereo using the radio's tube or transistor amplifier.
- Can be AC powered by the tube heaters circuit (parallel heaters only).
- Can be DC powered: 4V to 16V for FM only, 7V to 16V if using the regulated +5V output (50mA max).
- No additional controls required, no external mods !
- Easy to install: three grounded 2.6mm holes.
- Very compact: 3 cm x 3.6 cm !
- De-emphasis choice in setup: 75 µs (Americas, South Korea) or 50 µs (rest of the world).
- Mono / Stereo and optional AFC modes in setup.
- A 1-meter antenna wire is sufficient in most cases.
