New USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) carrier-shaped challenge coin.  The coin is 3" x .77" x .157" with diecast impressions on front and back.   Coin is cast from the ship's blueprint and is to scale to include the flight deck layout.  


The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-68) is is the 3rd nuclear-powered and second Nimitz-class aircraft carrier.  It was authorized by Congress in fiscal year 1970.   The ship was named for the 34th President of the United States and General of the Army Dwight David Eisenhower (October 14, 1890 - March 28, 1969). 

Since commissioning, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower has participating in numerous deployments include those in support of Gulf War in 1990s and military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The ship currently serves as the flagship of Carrier Strike Group Two. 

The ship is homeported in Norfolk, VA.
