Nutmegs

My mother tells me that an old folk-cure for backache is to carry a nutmeg with you, or wear as a pendant so that it touches your skin. Several people in her village in Cornwall swear by it..... These nutmegs have holes drilled in them and come with a generous length cord hung with several reclaimed wooden beads so that you can wear it as a pendant, or shorten the cord and wear it as a bracelet.

Your pendant will be similar but not identical to that pictured - the beads might differ slightly.

Nutmegs, traditionally are used good luck charms - carry one in your pocket to draw luck to you. In several cultures they are used as good health charms, especially for back-problems - often worn about the neck. They are toxic if large quantities are eaten - so please don't eat a whole one.... or even a quarter of one. used in small amounts they add flavor to many dishes. 

Watch out! - I've found that mice also enjoy them, so just make sure you don't leave it anywhere where unwelcome rodents can snack.
