Bandai HG RX-79 Gundam Ez-8, 08th Platoon.1/144 scale, pre-colored plastic model.
Gundam Ez-8 appeared in the 08th Platoon.
It is actually a locally modified MS due to the main character Shiro's land battle type Gundam being wrecked.
There are several characteristics of this MS.
The chest armor plate is actually a diverted part of the Zaku,
but because two plates are used, it withstood the attack of the Magellatop cannon.
In addition, the shape of the armor plate has been simplified,
contributing to weight reduction.( photo No.9,No.10)
The antenna of the normal land battle type Gundam
was not popular in jungle activities because
the usual two V-shaped antennas were easily damaged by trees.
To prevent exposure to bullets to the air intake and neck joints and
to prevent penetration of foreign objects due to use in the jungle,
the Ez-8 has additional chin guards, etc.
The letters 81 on the chest meant that it was the leader MS of 08 Platoon
The vernier propulsion and other features have been strengthened.
These improvements give it greater mobility and durability than the standard land battle type Gundam.
Incidentally, the backpack on the back of the land battle type is a parachute for descent.(photo No.11)
08 Platoon was an interesting story, and the mobile suits have quite detailed settings. The land battle type Gundam, Jim Sniper, and other variations of the Gundam and Jim appeared, making it an exciting story for Gundam enthusiasts.
The Ez-8 also had a refurbishment scene in the story.
It's a very interesting MS setting, if you think about it.
