This vintage poster, over 43 years old (!!), from the 1979 United States Formula 1 Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, New York, measures a huge 32 inches tall by 20 inches wide. It will be really eye-catching when framed. The artist who painted the scene was Michael Turner, who runs Studio 88- check it out.

There are some minor crinkles in the paper on a few edges consistent with being 43 years old, but overall it's in excellent condition; no missing paper from the poster itself. This is a great item for a man-cave devoted to motor sports, esp. F-1. It would look great housed in a wood frame in a den with an electric slot car track.

The poster features prominently Ferrari's Gilles Villeneuve, who died in 1982 in a crash in Belgium. It also shows Mario Andretti in his Lotus, Alan Jones in his Williams, Jacques Laffite in his Ligier, and Niki Lauda in his Brabham, among others. At the top of the poster, there are face-shots of Andretti, Jody Scheckter, Villeneuve's teammate (Ferrari); Jones, Laffite, Villeneuve, and Lauda. All of these became true legends. Lauda died recently from complications with his injuries in 1976; featured in the movie "Rush". Jones went on to win the 1980 and 81 World Driving Championship. Scheckter won the championship in 1979, the year of this poster.
