US Military Lister (AKA Lyster) Bag - 36 Gallon - Canvas - Water Storage & Distribution

These USGI Bags were manufactured in 2005 by HRFI, Huntsville, AL.  They've been on Uncle Sam's shelf for 17 years, now ready for your next adventure.

Own a piece of history!  This item has been in use by US Military from WWI through Vietnam and beyond.  The Lister Bag was named for William Lyster, a US ARMY surgeon who experimented with water purification and developed the original bag just before WWI.  We've included some photos of Lister Bags in use in the field.  Pic #3 above shows a Lister Bag in use during 1960 Boy Scout Jamboree in Colorado Springs.

Can be deployed on a tripod (not included) or hung from a tree branch or overhead structure.  Canvas Bag allows weeping (surface dampness) that enables evaporative cooling.
