Midcentury Organic c1950 Studio Art Pottery Vase Signed MJ Barbara Willis Era
Terrific, dated 1950, organic modernist 7” tall and 5.3/8” dia studio art pottery vase. Signed in fern leaf slip glaze decoration M.J., unglazed surface, and clear gloss glaze inside. I originally thought this was a piece by renowned California artisan Barbara Willis and then found the M.J. mark. Beautiful and finely crafted in person. Fresh from a fine old Denver estate, and offered with No Reserve.
Condition is excellent overall showing light and minor use, minor expected crazing to interior glaze with no chips, cracks, repairs, or other damage.
