stayed in 

a locked safe in a heated place 

that NEVER was wet or damp conditions!!

The box was put in damp conditions

 "BUT" lens "NEVER" did. 

Just a note so when you get the box you don't go thinking 

the lens was in it all the time NO it was out of the box 

that was down in the basement part of home.
