THIS IS A VINTAGE WW2 1941 GENTS ROLEX OYSTER SPEEDKING PRECISION WRISTWATCH IN STAINLESS STEEL.
DESCRIPTION.
To complete this fantastic piece, we've put it on a new high quality lizard strap.
CASE.
The stainless steel case "boys-size"is in very good condition for its age. The case measures 29mm across without the original Rolex Oyster Patented winding crown and 36mm long including the lugs. Inside the case back all the marks are correct as expected with the model and serial number on the outer case,
Please note: Watches of this age are smaller than today's modern Rolex so please check the measurements before you bid. Even though this was a mans watch in its day it is a ladies size nowdays or a small mans size.
DIAL.
Usually watches of this model have restored dials, but this dial is totally original (unrestored) with light age related patina. The dial has luminous batons & hands.
The dial is signed:
Rolex Oyster Speedking, Precision, Swiss.
MOVEMENT.
The high grade manual wind 17 rubies movement is in very good condition and has been fully serviced. The movement is signed: Rolex Precision, 17 rubies, Swiss Made, Patented Superbalance.
It also still retains its original Rolex Oyster Patented winding crown.
STRAP.
To finish this beautiful watch off, we've put it on a new high quality lizard strap.
THE BOX AND PAPERS.
Like most vintage wristwatches what are over 70 years old, the original certificate and box has been lost or discarded over the years. But even though this watch does not have its original box or certificate, this watch, the reference numbers, markings, signatures and hallmarks are all correct, dating the watch to circa 1941.
