Up for auction / sale is a Vintage Autographed RPPC Postcard of Conductor Erich Leinsdorf!!!   His autograph is very legible, but has two small smears on the marker signature, where something wet dripped on the back of the card.  Erich was an Austrian-born American conductor.  From 1934-1937 he was the Assistant Conductor of the Vienna Orchestra.  He advantageously departed Vienna in early 1938, just prior to the Nazi takeover, and took an Assistant Conductor position at the New York City Metropolitan Opera.  He became a naturalized citizen in 1942.  After the war, he conducted the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra from 1947-1955.  From 1955-1962 he briefly led the New York City Opera, made his own recordings and guest conducted the Cleveland Orchestra until 1980.  In 1962, he was selected to lead the Boston Symphony Orchestra and left in 1969 to travel and guest conduct symphony orchestras around the world!  A great vintage collectible!     Check out the photos, you get this item!
