This is a huge 28 3/4" by 21" original George McGovern Presidential campaign poster from the 1972 Presidential campaign against Richard M Nixon. Nixon may have been forced to resign, but he beat McGovern by one of the largest margins in history and no recount could have changed that. It features the title "McGovern President '72" and a close-up color profile of the candidate. Along the bottom is printed "Copyright 1972 Stanley Tretick" and "Paid for by the McGovern for President Committee, Marian Pearlman, Treasurer". These were sold during the election for a $1.00 donation each, but I got mine at the campaign headquarters on the night of the election after McGovern's loss was virtually guaranteed. They have been stored flat in the original shipping box for almost 50 years. They are in perfect MINT condition and have never been removed from the original shipping box, but must be rolled for shipping.
