This is a very special ornament, I have never seen one like it. Not only is it very old, but it has gold instead of silver on the inside like most ornaments. This gives the red an absolutely stunning and rich color to it. The red on the outside is aging, but this has only made it more beautiful as the gold underneath is showing though and it is just amazing. The top pike is flush with the ornament, much like a kugel, but does not have the fancy topper those usually had. The glass is on the thicker side, not super thin like you normally see from the feather ornaments, but would look very good on a tree like that. Just very unique. See photos for full details.
