AC DE FINE MUNDI EX SACRIS LITERIS

AUTHORE ANDREA OSIANDRO

NORIMBERGAE APUD IOHAN. PETREIUM

ANNO CHRISTI MDXLIIII

First edition of 1544 of this brief treaty by the theologian and reformer Andreas Osiander (1496-1552).

"Hardly had these 'Coniecturae' appeared at the end of Julius 1544 than a few days later a letter went around complaining about the insults to such holy men and threatening all sorts of things. Osiander also saw this letter himself, the author of which he learned from the knew the name and the handwriting well; and he was just amazed at the special coincidence that a writing that was mainly directed against the Antichrist, first aroused the Zwinglians against him" (Georg Andreas Will, Literary Museum II/1, 1778, a4, p. 214f.).
