Over the years the Echoplex tape echo has been the choice of many players to use not just as a delay but as pre-amp to flavor an boost their amps. It can be used to boost signal after the pedal board or a driver for the amp.  It's got warm sparkle to it's sound and very tube like response.  Recently some pedal makers have made the stellar sounding pre-amp into pedal.  The Carl's Custom Amps version is hand wired and build with high quality parts for great sound and reliability! It has come my attention some people thought this a  delay pedal.  It is a pre-amp boost similar to the one found inside the Echoplex but not the delay portion.
