Lemon myrtle (botanical name: Backhousia citriodora) cut and dried leaves

Backhousia citriodora, commonly known as lemon myrtle, is an Australian native plant renowned for its strong lemon scent and flavour. It's rich in antioxidants, essential oils, and compounds like citral, which may offer antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, potentially supporting immune function and digestion.

To make lemon myrtle tea, simply steep 1-2 tsps of the leaves in a 200ml cup of hot (90°C) water for 5-10 minutes, adjusting to taste preferences, then strain and enjoy. You can add honey or other sweetener of your choice. Lemon myrtle's  refreshing citrus notes make it a delightful beverage on its own or blended with other herbs.
