Rare TPUG Magazine Feb 1985 Commodore PET/CBM, VIC-20, C-64, SuperPET computers.

February 1985 TPUG Magazine

Background

This magazine was first published in February 1984 by the Toronto Pet Users' Group (TPUG) and covered computers from Commodore (Commodore 64, VIC20, PET/CBM, SuperPET). It had a limited lifetime - being issued for only a brief 2.5 years.

This particular issue features two articles from famed Commodore enthusiast Jim Butterfield, two dealing with software piracy, two articles discussing the SuperPET computer, coverage of the CES show, fixes for Jim Butterfield's Book, numerous reviews of publications and software, and the registration package for the Fourth Annual TPUG Conference held during May of 1985. A detailed table of contents is included further below.

This magazine hails from the early days of home computing - almost 40 years ago. Learning about the past can prove very helpful when trying to understand current practices and designs. Older technologies are often embedded at a primitive level within today's systems. If you are involved in software engineering or interested in the history of computing, then you will want this vintage computer magazine for your personal collection.
