Large stunning tureen with lid - Hand painted Quimper pottery tureen is decorated on one side with a lounging Breton peasant playing a flute against a country church background. The other side is painted with with a pretty yellow floral. The lid is painted with yellow and pink floralS and the feet, top handle and edges are painted blue.
There are two chips inside the rim of the bowl that are not visible from the outside and there is a tight hairline inside. (See Photos). The tureen seems to hold liquid without seepage in spite of the hairline but the it is basically a display piece in its current condition and it displays beautifully. There are no other chips or cracks and no stains, crazing or repairs. The bottom of the bowl is painted "Henriot Quimper F. 3211 "F*"
