Vintage Brown Label NORTH FACE Goretex lined parka jacket 1989 USFS USA made

Here is a nice, lightly used vintage brown label THE NORTH FACE GoreTex parka, made in U.S.A. It's dark olive green and includes the detachable hood. The lining is grey and it is not insulated (not a puffer jacket). It looks like it has not seen much use, but it does have some soiling (see photos). It also has the velcro of the inner chest pocket detached from one side, see photo. The "o" in NORTH FACE on the label is blacked out, usually a sign of a factory second or garment that was otherwise not intended for retail sale. Other parts of the label also blacked out. I think I found the flaw... there's a 1/4" square run in the liner fabric right near the zipper and about 6" up from the hem... see photo. This was United States Forest Service issue, and you can see the stitch marks where the USFS chest patch was removed from the jacket. Measurements are shown in the photos... 33" tall neck to hem, 22" wide at armpits, 22" wide at hem, 23" armpit to cuff, 35" center of neck to cuff. It fits true to men's medium size, but it is LABELED SMALL/LONG. I happen to be listing a second, nearly identical parka right now which is a size medium, and all of the measurements on this jacket are the same or slightly BIGGER than the other size medium jacket. I wear between a medium and large, and this jacket fits me comfortably. I usually cannot squeeze into size small clothing. So I'm calling this a medium.

Thanks for looking!

Notes on shipping:

I urge you to click on the "Shipping and Payments" tab above to view your shipping options, especially on heavier items. The default option is not always the cheapest. You also have the option of choosing your shipping method when paying for the item, and again I urge you to take a look at your options; you could save a few bucks.

On average, I LOSE MONEY ON SHIPPING. I feel the need to express this because I am getting many comments like "Come on, you gotta be able to ship it cheaper than that!" No, I can't, unless there are unusual circumstances. The fact that ebay takes around 16% of what you pay me for shipping does not help that equation.

I can ship USPS or UPS. I can't ship FedEx; I live in a rural area that Fed Ex does not service. International sales/shipping gladly accepted through the eBay Global Shipping program.

I use almost exclusively recycled packaging to keep your shipping/handling costs down. I pack thoroughly, and I don't have many damaged shipments. It does happen occasionally, though, and in those cases I will make it right.

If you (the buyer) want insurance or alternate shipping, we can work it out prior to payment. I will ship within 3 business days after receiving payment, usually quicker.
