19th century photography equipment : wooden camera printing frame.
Multi-part, joined wood frame.
Glass.
Wooden, hinged back-cover with textile covering.

Brass metal spring retainers at the back securing the complex hinged wooden backing.
The brass springs pivot to catch under the brass disks screwed to the rear sides of the wooden frame.

Stamped with the patent date, Aug 12, 1890 ( a bit indistinct ).

Although not marked, this printing frame was made by E. & H. T. Anthony & Company of New York, which was the largest supplier and distributor of photographic supplies in the United States during the 19th century.

This frame is designed for photography with a 4" x 5" plate.
There is a small disc at the center ( it has the appearance of a circular saw blade ) with numbers around the surface, indicating how many photographs had been taken.
Thumb-notches at the back to facilitate removing the hinged wooden back-cover.
The wood is beveled at the inner edges of the "sight" area ( at the front ).

The wooden frame is in good condition, with some surface wear;  it's 130+ years old.
The glass is still good.
Some wear to the textile surface ( as expected; this is from a camera which was actually used ).
The brass springs and parts have surface tarnish but are otherwise very good.
The springs still pivot freely, as designed.

Other than some wear on the upper surface of the wood and some light brass tarnish, this antique wooden photography printing frame is in quite nice condition.
