An impressive Nippon cookie platter or plate with stylized handles featuring a striking pastel floral medley by the renowned Japanese porcelain manufacturer, Morimura Bros.  This gorgeous porcelain plate is fully hand-painted with a glorious floral motif that aligns with Art Deco aesthetics.  The center is decorated with pink, yellow, and white roses, along with bluebells and violets.  The center is surrounded by purple flowers and sprays of gilt.  The border possesses a unique black and white checkered pattern, while the rim and handles are a solid, lustrous gold.

This rare Nippon piece is completely free of any visible damage.  Excellent, preowned condition.  Light wear to the gilt.  It measures approximately 10 inches in diameter.  Marked with an “M” standing for "Morimura" in a wreath, crowned by "Hand painted" and below, “NIPPON.”  This genuine Morimura Bros. mark was introduced in 1910, and possibly in use until 1921, prior to the regular use of the initial Noritake back stamp.
