This is a very rare, lavishly produced book from 1974.  Subtitled "A Bird's-eye View of Korea's Brilliant Fifty-Century Artistic Tradition", it is beautifully hardbound in red cloth with a gilt-stamped cover and spine, and contains hundreds of photos of important cultural objects from all of Korean history, from paintings to pottery, metalwork to architecture, which epitomize Korea's artistic brilliance.
The book is large at about 11x15", is 378 pages long, and was published in Seoul by Kwang Myong.  It is in beautiful condition -- it barely seems as if it has been opened in its 50 year existence!  It is still in its original slipcase, as well as the custom cardboard protective box, and it retains the softcover booklet it came with.
I can only find one other copy of this title for sale on-line (on Bookfinder.com), and it is priced at $250.  I've priced this at less than half of that.
This is a large, heavy book, so Media Mail is available to keep the price of shipping down, but we can also ship via Priority Mail, if desired.
Over the next few days I will be listing dozens of special books like this one, mostly dealing with Asian art and antiques, ethnic and tribal jewelry.  Please see my other auctions.
